About this race
The Boudicca Way 50K Summer Ultra is a point-to-point trail race starting at Hope Church in Diss and finishing at Trowse Common, near Norwich, following the Boudicca Way Long Distance Path across South Norfolk. The well-marked route runs parallel to the old Roman road, now the A140, passing through historic villages including Pulham Market, Fritton, Saxlingham Nethergate, Shotesham, Stoke Holy Cross and Caistor Roman Town, one of only three Roman towns in the UK never built over. The path is well maintained and the running surface is generally good, making this a genuinely beginner-friendly ultra rather than a technical mountain challenge. With excellent rail links close to both the start and finish, a generous 10 hour time limit, and four checkpoints offering food and drink along the way, it's designed as an approachable first ultramarathon. GPS tracking, first aid and a post-race meal are all included, with proceeds supporting Norfolk Trails.
