About this race
TrailFest Holdenby House Marathon covers just over four laps of a purpose-built 10km trail loop within the private grounds of the Holdenby House estate in Northamptonshire, starting and finishing between the historic Basecourt Arches. Each lap crosses open fields on a mix of farm track and field edge, dips through sections of woodland, and takes in one noticeable hill, with sweeping views over the rolling Northamptonshire countryside throughout. As a brand new venue for Big Bear Events in 2026, this course has never been used for running before, giving entrants a genuinely fresh trail to explore across the full marathon distance. Very generous cut-off times are designed to remove the usual barriers to taking on a trail marathon, making it accessible to first-time marathoners as well as experienced ultra runners using it as a stepping stone towards the longer 50K on the same day.
