About this race
The Warrington Running Festival Half Marathon starts and finishes at the Golden Gates of Warrington Town Hall, on a closed-road course through the town centre and surrounding streets. The 21.1km route is flat and fast, with only around 119 metres of elevation gain over the full distance, taking in a mix of historic streets and residential areas as it loops back towards the finish. Because roads are closed for the event, runners have the town largely to themselves, making it a genuinely fast course for chasing a personal best. Each kilometre is accurately marked with distance flags, and marshals are positioned throughout to guide runners and cheer them on. The race finishes back at the Golden Gates, close to the lively Bank Park event village, with food vendors and entertainment for runners and spectators. It's one of the flatter half marathon options in the North West, suited to first-timers and PB-chasers alike.
