About this race

The Sheffield 10K starts and finishes on Arundel Gate in the heart of Sheffield city centre. From the start, the course heads out along Ecclesall Road before climbing towards Hangingwater and Endcliffe Park, one of the route's more challenging sections. Runners then continue through Bingham Park and the Sheffield Botanical Gardens, taking in leafy suburbs before turning back towards the city centre via Charter Row and Riverdale Road to finish close to the start line. The course runs entirely on closed, tarmac city roads and is best described as undulating, with a notable incline around the Hangingwater and Endcliffe Park section balanced by faster, flatter stretches elsewhere. Staged in partnership with Sheffield City Council, the event draws thousands of runners each year, with enthusiastic local crowds lining much of the route and a lively event village at the Arundel Gate start and finish.
