About this race
The Blast Running Sundowner 5K Series is a relaxed summer-evening series of three 5K races staged across some of Edinburgh's best-loved green spaces, with this event based at Inverleith Park. The course follows the park's inner trail paths and tarmac routes, winding around the open parkland with its well-known views towards the city skyline and Edinburgh Castle. The terrain is only gently undulating with no significant hills to climb, making it an accessible and welcoming run whether taking on a first 5K, building confidence or chasing a quicker time. Clearly marked and supported by friendly marshals throughout, the traffic-free route offers a low-pressure, sociable atmosphere ideal for a post-work run. Organised by Edinburgh-based Blast Running and chip-timed, entrants can take part in this single race or complete all three events in the series to track their progress across the summer.
Course profile & record eligibility
World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
