About this race
The Blackpool Night Run starts and finishes at the Tower Festival Headland, directly across from Blackpool Tower, on a 7.5km out-and-back route along the seafront. The traffic-free course heads north along Blackpool's famous Promenade, passing beneath the world-renowned Illuminations, which are switched on especially for the event ahead of the official season launch. Runners continue to a turning point at Red Bank Road in Bispham before retracing the same route back to the finish. The surface is entirely flat, paved promenade, making it accessible to walkers, joggers and runners of all abilities, including families and those in fancy dress. Held on a Wednesday evening in early September, the event is completely free to enter, with participants asked to raise a minimum sponsorship amount or make a donation in support of Brian House Children's Hospice, the only children's hospice on the Fylde coast.
