Muntjac 15

The Muntjac 15 starts and finishes at Dawson Field in Danbury, Essex, linking together five separate areas of woodland around the village on a single looped route. The course packs in steep ascents, winding technical downhills and genuinely fun single track sections, making it a serious test despite its rural Essex setting rather than a mountainous one. Total elevation gain is over 1,600 feet across the full 15 miles, giving a properly undulating, energy-sapping profile. The terrain is entirely off-road woodland trail, and the course is fully marked with an official GPX file also available for those wanting to familiarise themselves in advance. A single, well-stocked checkpoint sits roughly halfway, with vegan options and clear dietary labelling. It's a cupless event, so runners must carry their own bottle or cup. Bespoke locally made trophies and cash prizes are awarded to the open category winners, with a quality memento for every finisher.
