Kirkcaldy Parks 5K Trail Race

The Kirkcaldy Parks 5K Trail Race starts and finishes within the grounds of Dunnikier Park in Kirkcaldy, Fife, running a single lap of approximately 5km. The route heads out through the gently undulating woodland surrounding the park and along tracks around the outside of Dunnikier Park Golf Course, before returning to finish back in the park itself. The terrain is genuine multi-surface trail, mixing grass, tarmac, gravel and soft trail underfoot, so appropriate off-road footwear is recommended. Held on the Saturday of the wider Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival weekend, it runs alongside the longer 10k trail race on the same course network. The event is professionally organised, fully chip timed and supported by enthusiastic marshals along the route, offering a scenic, accessible introduction to trail running in one of Kirkcaldy's most attractive parks ahead of the following day's headline half marathon.
