Dales Dazzler 34mile

The Dales Dazzler 34 Mile Ultramarathon starts and finishes in the market town of Skipton, known as "Sheep Town" in old Northern dialect and recorded in the Domesday Book. The route heads west via Clogger Lane and Gargrave before picking up the Dales Way, continuing through Grassington and on to Burnsall and Barden Bridge, then returning to Skipton via Embsay. The terrain is genuine Yorkshire Dales trail throughout, taking in riverside paths, farmland and moorland, with around 4,200 feet of climbing over the full distance. Checkpoints along the way are stocked with water, coke, energy bars and crisps, including vegan and gluten free options, with all ultramarathon entrants supplied with a GPS tracker. Organised by Punk Panther as part of a wider four-distance event, it's a serious ultra distance through some of the Dales' most scenic countryside, finishing with a medal, post-race meal and t-shirt.
