Dales Dazzler Half Marathon

The Dales Dazzler Half Marathon starts and finishes in the market town of Skipton, known as "Sheep Town" in old Northern dialect and recorded in the Domesday Book. The shortest of the event's four distances heads west out of town towards Clogger Lane before looping back to the finish, taking in Yorkshire Dales farmland and country paths along the way. The terrain is genuine trail rather than road, with around 1,500 feet of climbing over the full distance giving a properly undulating profile without the sustained climbs of the longer routes. Checkpoints are stocked with water, coke, energy bars and crisps, along with vegan and gluten free options. Organised by Punk Panther as part of a wider four-distance event held on the same August morning, it's designed as an accessible entry point into Dales trail racing, with every finisher receiving a medal, post-race meal and t-shirt.
