Dales Dazzler 50mile

The Dales Dazzler 50 Mile Ultramarathon starts and finishes in the market town of Skipton, known as "Sheep Town" in old Northern dialect and recorded in the Domesday Book. The longest of the event's four distances heads west via Clogger Lane and Gargrave onto the Pennine Way to Malham Tarn, before continuing over to Kettlewell and joining the Dales Way through Grassington, Burnsall and Barden Bridge on the return to Skipton via Embsay. The terrain is genuine Yorkshire Dales trail throughout, taking in moorland, riverside paths and farmland, with around 7,600 feet of climbing over the full distance. Checkpoints are stocked with water, coke, energy bars and crisps, and all ultramarathon entrants are supplied with a GPS tracker for the day. A drop bag transferred to the Malham Tarn checkpoint is available. Organised by Punk Panther, it's the flagship distance of this challenging Dales ultra.
