Dales Dazzler 20mile

The Dales Dazzler 20 Mile Trail Race starts and finishes in the market town of Skipton, known as "Sheep Town" in old Northern dialect and recorded in the Domesday Book. The route heads out via Clogger Lane before continuing on to Gargrave, sharing the early sections of its course with the longer ultramarathon distances before looping back to the finish in Skipton. The terrain is genuine Yorkshire Dales trail, crossing farmland and country paths, with around 2,200 feet of climbing over the full distance giving a testing but manageable profile. Checkpoints along the way are stocked with water, coke, energy bars and crisps, including vegan and gluten free options. Organised by Punk Panther as part of a wider four-distance event held on the same August morning, it's a solid step up from the half marathon, with every finisher receiving a medal, post-race meal and t-shirt back in Skipton.
