Wimbleball Lake Trail Races 5k

The Wimbleball Lake Trail Races 5K starts and finishes at the Wimbleball Lake Activity Centre, near Dulverton on the edge of Exmoor in Somerset. The single-lap course follows the same opening section as the longer 10k, before turning earlier to complete the shorter distance. The route is predominantly off-road, taking in woodland trails and open paths around the reservoir, with a small stretch of tarmac as the course crosses the dam itself. Throughout the run there are stunning views out across the lake and the surrounding Exmoor landscape. Held on a Friday evening as the opening event of a full festival weekend that also includes a Wimbleball Lake Triathlon, it's a relaxed, scenic option with camping available on site for those wanting to make a weekend of it. A canicross category is also available for both distances at this event.
