About this race

The Treggy 7 is a seven-mile circular road race organised by Launceston Road Runners and forms part of the Cornish Grand Prix series. Starting from Launceston Town Square, the opening mile heads mostly downhill out of the town, dropping towards Newport and out along Underlane onto undulating rural roads. After a water station around the 2.5 to 3.5 mile mark, runners face the race's main challenge, a half-mile climb up "Treggy Hill" into the village of Tregadillett. Leaving the village at around four miles, the final three miles are mainly downhill, with a second water station near 5.5 miles, before a memorable finish within the grounds of Launceston Castle. Run on quiet tarmac lanes through the Cornish countryside on the outskirts of Launceston, it is a well-marshaled, community-run event that draws a strong field from across Devon and Cornwall each year.
