About this race
The Snowdonia Sea2Sky 12K starts and finishes on Traeth Abermaw beach in Barmouth, on the coast of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, offering the shortest and most accessible introduction to the event's three trail distances. New for 2026, the route heads out from the beach on a shorter loop that still captures the flavour of the longer courses, taking in coastal viewpoints and forest tracks around the Barmouth area rather than the mountain summit tackled by the full ultra. The terrain is a genuine off-road mix of trail and forest path, well suited to first-time trail runners as well as those building towards the longer distances. The course is clearly marked with trail flags, tags and signage, with marshals at major junctions and GPX files available. It's a cup-free event, so runners must bring their own bottle for the aid stations.
