About this race
The Sawtry 10 starts and finishes at Sawtry Village Academy on Fen Lane in Sawtry, Cambridgeshire, as the County 10 Mile Championship race in the Cambs Road League. The single-lap course loops around quiet, gently undulating country roads through the surrounding Huntingdonshire countryside, passing both Hamerton Zoo and Aversley and Archers Woods along the way. The route features a partial road closure and diversion through the village itself, though runners are on open roads once they leave the school grounds, with marshals and a tail bike supporting the field throughout. The surface is entirely tarmac, with a generous 2.5 hour cut-off making it accessible to a wide range of paces. Officially measured and licensed under UK Athletics rules, the race is hosted by Sawtry Walk to Run, with local charity CARESCO providing bacon butties, changing facilities and post-race physio back at the school.
