About this race
The BraemarAthon 10 Mile starts at Braemar Stadium in the Aberdeenshire Highlands, sharing the first five miles of its out-and-back route with the longer Half BraemarAthon before turning back towards the finish. The course follows the road along the River Dee towards the Lin of Dee car park, taking in sweeping views of the surrounding hills and glens throughout. The terrain is entirely on road, undulating rather than flat, reflecting the natural contours of this stretch of Royal Deeside countryside. It's a small, well-regarded chip-timed event, with an overall male and female winner as well as category prizes on offer. Held alongside the Half Marathon and 10km, which all start together and share the same opening stretch of road, it offers a genuinely scenic middle-distance option in one of Scotland's most picturesque Highland villages.
