About this race

The Half BraemarAthon starts and finishes at Braemar Stadium in the Aberdeenshire Highlands, following a beautiful out-and-back route along the course of the River Dee. Runners head out from the village towards the Lin of Dee car park before retracing the same road back to the finish. The course is entirely on road, undulating throughout rather than flat, reflecting the natural rise and fall of this stretch of Highland countryside. Runners are treated to sweeping views of the surrounding hills and glens for the whole out-and-back journey. It's a small, well-regarded event, chip timed with an overall male and female winner plus category prizes across the field. Held alongside a 10 mile and 10km option which share the same opening miles of the route, it offers a scenic, low-key half marathon experience in one of Scotland's most picturesque royal deeside villages.
