The Amazing Northampton Run

The Amazing Northampton Run starts and finishes in the historic Market Square in the heart of Northampton, on a 13.1 mile closed-road course. The route heads down past All Saints' Church and the Carlsberg Brewery before following the River Nene towards Sixfields Reservoir and Sixfields Stadium, home of Northampton Town since 1897. From there the course continues into Franklin's Gardens, home of Northampton Saints Rugby, and along the closed Spencer Bridge Road, taking in the Racecourse, home of the local parkrun, before passing the Central Mosque and Northants County Cricket Ground and returning through Abington Park to the town centre finish. The surface is entirely tarmac road, and the course is largely flat, making it well suited to chasing a fast time. Runners can also take part as a three-person relay, or in the accompanying 3 mile fun run, with chip timing, pacers and multiple aid stations throughout.
