About this race

The Snowdonia Sea2Sky 54K starts and finishes on Traeth Abermaw beach in Barmouth, on the coast of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. From sea level, the route heads out over the Barmouth footbridge and joins the Mawddach Trail, following the estuary before climbing to the summit of Cadair Idris, one of Wales's best-known mountains. After reaching the top, the course descends back down towards the coast, with the glittering Mawddach Estuary visible below on the return leg to Barmouth. The terrain is a genuine mix of coastal viewpoints, forest tracks, rocky mountain paths and open trail, with around 1,600 metres of total ascent and descent over the full distance. The course is clearly marked with trail flags, tags and signage, with marshals at major junctions and GPX files available. It's a cup-free event, so runners must bring their own bottle for the aid stations.
