Shrewsbury 50K

The Shrewsbury 50K is a new point-to-point ultramarathon starting at Rectory Fields in Church Stretton and finishing at Quarry Park in Shrewsbury, running the Church Stretton 50K route in reverse. The race opens with the demanding Burway climb straight out of Church Stretton, one of the toughest ascents on the whole course, before settling into what organisers describe as a relatively kind run for an ultra as the route trends back towards Shrewsbury. The course crosses genuine Shropshire countryside, taking in rural roads, villages and rolling farmland on the journey between the two towns. Runners are supported by five aid stations and professional chip timing, with free event photos included. As part of the new Shropshire 50 Series, completing the Shrewsbury 50K alongside the Church Stretton 50K and Historic Shropshire 50K earns a special Shropshire Challenge medal.
