About this race
TrailFest Holdenby House 50K covers five laps of a purpose-built 10km trail loop within the private grounds of the Holdenby House estate in Northamptonshire, starting and finishing between the historic Basecourt Arches. Each lap crosses open fields on a mix of farm track and field edge, dips through sections of woodland, and takes in one noticeable hill, with sweeping views over the rolling Northamptonshire countryside throughout. As a brand new venue for Big Bear Events in 2026, this course has never been used for running before, giving entrants a genuinely fresh trail to explore across the full ultra distance. It's a great early-season option for experienced ultra runners looking to get a 50K in, with very generous cut-off times designed to make the distance feel achievable, and the lapped format allowing crew and supporters to see runners come through repeatedly during the day.
