Beast of Bryn 10.5mile

The Beast of Bryn 10.5 mile starts at Bryn Rugby & Social Club in Bryn, near Port Talbot, with the race field heading out onto the mountains of Afan Forest Park. The longer of the two routes climbs a total of around 556 metres over its distance, taking in sweeping views across the Afan Valley as it winds through forest trail, open hillside and mountain track. The terrain is genuinely off-road and hilly throughout, avoiding busy roads and featuring a downhill run in to the finish back at the rugby club. Two water stations support runners along the way, and the course is fully marked and marshalled, with medical cover provided by the Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. As part of the Welsh Athletics Masters Championship for affiliated runners, it draws a competitive field alongside first-time trail racers, with every finisher receiving a bespoke medal and t-shirt.
