The Summer Green Man Ultra (GMU) 45mile

The Summer Green Man Ultra is a 45-mile loop around Bristol, run in a clockwise direction for the summer edition, starting from Aston Park School and finishing at the same venue after a full circuit of the route. The course largely follows the Community Forest Path, a network of paths, cycleways and green corridors that ring the city, taking in a mix of surfaced tracks, parkland and some sections of quiet road as it links green spaces on the edge of Bristol. Underfoot conditions are generally firm in summer, making the course faster than its winter counterpart, though there are still some softer trail sections. The route is largely flat to gently undulating rather than mountainous, reflecting its urban-fringe setting rather than open hill country. Well-stocked checkpoints are placed around the loop, with pacers available for runners who want support over the full distance.
