About this race
The Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon starts and finishes at Weighbridge Place in St Helier, Jersey's capital, on the island's stunning coastal roads and inland country lanes. The route heads out through the town before tracing much of the island's coastline, taking in dramatic sea views along the way, including the landmark Corbiere Lighthouse, before turning inland through rural parishes and returning to the finish in St Helier. The course is entirely tarmac, with a genuinely hilly profile in places rather than a flat, fast layout, reflecting Jersey's varied coastal and country terrain. Over 2,500 runners take part each year, with more than 40 percent travelling from outside the island. As well as the solo marathon, entrants can take part as a two or five person relay team, or in the shorter Marathon Mile. Now in its third decade, the race plays a key role in raising funds for local and international charities.
