About this race
The Kidney Wales CDF 10K starts and finishes on King Edward VII Avenue in the heart of Cardiff city centre, with the event village based on the City Hall Lawns. The flat, fast route takes runners on a sightseeing tour of the Welsh capital, passing the medieval Cardiff Castle and the Principality Stadium before crossing the River Taff towards the leafy suburb of Pontcanna. From there the course loops through the grade 2 listed parkland of Llandaff and Pontcanna Fields and passes Sophia Gardens, the home of Welsh cricket, before returning past Cardiff Castle for a grandstand finish at the Edwardian Civic Centre. The surface is entirely closed-road tarmac throughout, making it well suited to both PB chasers and those new to the distance. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026, it's Wales's largest 10K road race and the closing event of the Run 4 Wales 10K Series.
