About this race

The Cirencester 10k is a closed-road race through the heart of Cirencester, a historic market town in the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire, England, organised by Future Sports Events. The course starts and finishes at the Market Place in the town centre, passing through Cirencester's most recognisable streets and taking in the parkland of Cirencester Park along the way. The route runs on tarmac throughout and showcases the town's Roman heritage, Georgian architecture and Cotswold character across the full 10km. The course is chip timed and well-supported with water stations at the halfway point and finish line, pacers, safety marshals and professional race photographers on course. A lively event village with refreshments, toilets and music awaits runners at the finish. All finishers receive a custom medal and a technical head buff.

Course profile & record eligibility

World Athletics record-eligibility rules cap net elevation loss at 1m per km of race distance, and require the start and finish to be no more than 50% of the race distance apart — both meant to stop a course gaining an unfair edge from downhill grade or a point-to-point tailwind. This is based on this course's recorded elevation and GPS data, not an official measurement or certification.
