About this race

The Brighton and Hove 10K starts and finishes at Hove Lawns, part of the Brighton Marathon Weekend held the day before the main marathon. The out-and-back course is wheelchair accessible and run entirely on tarmac roads and promenade, heading east along the seafront before a steady climb at 3.5km up St James's Street. A steep downhill section follows at 5.25km on Duke's Mound, before the route joins the lively Madeira Drive, buzzing with sound systems and crowds from 5.5km to 7km, on the way back to the finish. Total elevation change is modest, at around 14 metres, keeping the course largely flat and fast, with a helpful breeze often found on the flatter sections. Drinks and water refill points are positioned along the route, making it a popular choice for runners chasing a personal best over the shorter distance.
