Thetford 5K Santa Run

The Thetford 5K Santa Run starts and finishes at the Guildhall in Thetford Market Place, taking in a loop of the town suitable for families and runners of all abilities. The course runs mostly on pavements, with a few road crossings and some short off-road sections woven into the route around the town. The terrain is flat and undemanding throughout, with no time cut-off, making it accessible to walkers, joggers and those pushing single running buggies as well as competitive runners. Entrants are encouraged to wear festive fancy dress, with a prize for the best costume on the day. After finishing, runners return to the Market Place for free tea, coffee, squash and mince pies, with medals awarded to every finisher. The event is a collaboration between the Brecks Fen Edge and Rivers Landscape Partnership, Run Breckland and Thetford Town Council.
